Formerly called ‘The Co-Creator’, this newsletter is now ‘Our Co-Creators.’
The project started as a way of getting to know people in the movement, relating what I was learning to a larger audience and doing what I felt was a contribution of my skills to an important cause. With a lot of intentional charge to the projects, it grew considerably in the five years or so it took from the beginning of the first issue to the completion of the third, even becoming the official newsletter for my ecovillages website. I played many roles for this including journalist, editor, photographer, copy editor, publisher, project coordinator, event coordinator, facilitator, designer, developer and more.

The intent for the newsletter as written for the Manitoba Ecovillages site formerly located at ecovillages.ca is as follows:
With six issues planned out, this newsletter gives attention to a growing culture of local green efforts and initiatives, entrepreneurs and creative, interdependent people. The thrust of the stories inside is to highlight leading examples in the global community as the literature seeks to inspire locally. Or, more simply, think (and research) globally, act (and inspire) locally.
Attention is given to people and communities whose paths and actions follow the global transition to a net carbon-negative community. Containing both opinion and reporting of the heros, wavemakers and pioneers, the aim is to raise awareness of emerging communities of transition through literature, workshops, tours and more.
This newsletter plays the literature component in a vision to create a more favorable environment for the cultivation of human-scale, climate-resilient and food-secure communities in Manitoba. Sign up to take your first step into this emerging community!
