After years of event coordination as a LAN party organizer for Winnipeg Gamers in Manitoba, Jacob branched out into events in Manitoba that relate solutions for climate change to attendees. As an entrepreneur and econerd journalist, he interviews people who are wave-makers for their niche, whether ecovillages, earthships or other green concepts. These articles have been printed in the Manitoba EcoNetwork’s EcoJournal and The Aquarian. He also designed and published a journal called Our Co-Creators and has appeared on CKUW’s Rogue Primate numerous times to talk about what he has discovered. He’s a big fan of permaculture and it’s design philosophies.
His family lived at Whole Village, an ecovillage in the Caledon area of Ontario for a year and is now living in Gimli, Manitoba. He was a board member on the Ecovillages Canada team for several years, and participated with the Global Ecovillage Network North America (GENNA) meetings as well. He is excited to bring his organizational and web development skill-sets to his community.
As a writer, he’s a member of the Manitoba Writer’s Guild and has self-published short stories to amazon. He enjoys writing fiction about psychic children, off-grid communities and the neurodiverse.
